WB Games has announced that Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate has sold over twelve million units worldwide.

The latest entry in the hyper violent fighting game launched over two years ago now, and the franchise is nearing its thirtieth anniversary next year. The game has continued have good sales well after launch two, and has sold an additional four million units since NetherRealm last updated fans on sales figures in October. The sales have likely been bolstered by the release on Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate in November.

“When Mortal Kombat launched nearly 30 years ago, I never dreamed it would grow into the franchise it is today with more than 73 million games sold,” said Creative Director Ed Boon. “We have some of the most passionate fans in the world and we appreciate the support they have shown us over the years.”

Despite the game's large install base, DLC support for Mortal Kombat 11 has now officially ended, with no new DLC characters coming while developer NetherRealm moves onto its next major project.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

  • Nice, it deserves it. Will be there for MK12 when they make it.
  • So, no achievements for the DLC characters in the end? I thought they may have added them down the track similar to Injustice 2. Eh, no real loss.
  • It seems NRS never adds new achievements to their DLC.
