Eubank, who last directed the Kristen Stewart thriller Underwater, is attached to direct while Landon, a Paranormal stalwart who wrote four of the previous movies before going on to become a hit horror director in his own right, will pen the script for what is being described by insiders as an “unexpected retooling” of the franchise, being made by Paramount Players.
Jason Blum of Blumhouse and Oren Peli are back are producers while Steven Schneider is back as executive producer. Landon will also exec produce.

Created by Peli, who wrote, directed, and shot the initial installment, Paranormal is a horror movie series focused, in most outings, on a family terrorized by a demon. The movies capitalized on the growing use of video and cell phone cameras to tell spooky and jump-scare-filled tales to great effect. Made on micro-budgets, the movies were massive money-makers, with the first one considered to be among the most profitable movies ever made.
Plot details for the new outing are being kept behind the lens but it is known that it will continue to the found footage device.
The new Paranormal has a March 4, 2022, release date penciled in.
Prior to helming Underwater, Eubank made noise with his breakthrough film, The Signal, a sci-fi thriller that starred Laurence Fishburne, Olivia Cooke, Brenton Thwaites. The movie premiered at Sundance and was picked up by Focus. His first feature, Love, was commissioned by the alternative rock band, Angels & Airwaves.
Landon, who frequently works with Blum, is coming off the bloody good showing of Freaky, the body-swapping horror comedy that starred Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton.
Eubank is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content while Landon is repped by WME, Mosaic, and Bloom Hergott.
