Ed Boon, one of the creators of Mortal Kombat and the creative director of Mortal Kombat 11, likes to have fun with his Twitter followers. Sometimes it's good fun, like when Boon is sharing some exciting news about NetherRealm Studios'  plans or Mortal Kombat 11 happenings. But Boon also likes to have fun at his followers' expense. And right now Boon can't help but have fun with the Mortal Kombat 11 fans following him that so dearly want Mileena to be added as a DLC character.

On July 1, Boon posted a series of messages which only be described as perfectly on-brand for the creative director. First, Boon made a completely unrelated Twitter post regarding the steep rise in price of Youtube TV. However, at the end of the tweet, Boon added the hashtag #WeWantMileena with an emoji rolling its eyes. Naturally, Mortal Kombat 11 fans ignored the Youtube TV part of the tweet and focused solely on Boon's perceived slight of Mileena fans.

That was only the start of Boon's Mileena trolling, however. In the span of 20 minutes, Boon had posted two more troll posts on Twitter. He reposted an image shared with him showing Mileena holding an assault rifle with the test "MILEENA FOR DLC" above it. Then shortly after retweeted a piece of fanart showing Mileena in Mortal Kombat 11. The art showed a logo for Kombat Pack 2, but Boon corrected in his twee that "technically this would be Kombat Pack 3."

It's likely that Boon was just trying to tease Mileena fans with his first tweet, but then once they were riled up he took the opportunity to have some more fun with them. Boon is well-known to do this kind of thing regularly, so fans shouldn't read too much into it. It doesn't mean that Mileena is coming to Mortal Kombat 11 as DLC. It doesn't mean she isn't, either.

To be clear, Mortal Kombat 11 has not announced Mileena as a DLC character. It hasn't even announced Kombat Pack 2, though it may consider the Aftermath characters to be Kombat Pack 2. NetherRealm has released one Kombat Pack of six characters so far, as well as three additional characters via the Aftermath expansion.

As for what Boon is referring to when he mentioned "Kombat  Pack 3," there have been some leaks said to have come from within NetherRealm about future DLC characters. Mileena wasn't listed as one of them, but Boon is likely well familiar with the leak and is having fun with it.  Whether a leak is true or not, trust in Boon to have fun with his Twitter followers over it.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
